Wild fire spreading in Annapurna Conservation Area

A wild fire started around Annapurna Conservation area from last Monday is still out of control. According to report fire started from the bushes of Ghandruk VDC a popular tourist destination at an altitude of around 2000m, now spread to altitude of 5000m from the sea level.

Even though fire is far away from resident area it has affected wild animals, birds and entire forest ecosystem. Armed Police Force has been deployed to control the fire which has not been substantial . Villagers are worried that if fire is not controlled sooner it can spread to villages so the Local Administration has called the help of Nepal Army.
