Voting for Second Phase of New 7wonders of Nature begins

The Swiss based organizer has now moved on to second phase of the campaign ‘New 7 Wonders of Nature’. The organizer has successfully organized similar campaign ‘New 7 Wonders of World’ in year 2007. The campaign will announce seven wonders of nature in the year 2011 after a global poll. A total of 261 qualified national and multinational nominees from 222 countries are competing for top 77 places. Voting for nominees are open until 7th July 2009 and from top 77 shortlisted 21 candidates will be considered and announced on 21st July 2009. The 21 finalist candidates will go through voting until 2011 and the official N7W of nature will be declared in 2011.
Nepal is competing in two categories:

• Group C: Mountain and Volcanoes – Mount Everest
• Group E: Forests, National Parks, Nature Reserves – Chitwan National Park
