Program organized to promote Nepal Tourism in Scotland

The Embassy of Nepal in London had organized a program at Town House of Aberdeen, Scotland to promote Nepal Tourism on Saturday.
The program was specially concentrated on the campaign of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and it was organized in coordination with the Nepalese Himalayan Association, Scotland and Scot- Nepalese Friendship Society.
Dr. Suresh C. Chalise Nepalese ambassador to UK was warmly welcomed in the program and Worshipful Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Peter Stephen, said, “This event will not only help strengthen the ties between the people of Aberdeen City and Shire and the Nepalese people but encourage new interest in tourism and other business sectors.’’
Dr. Suresh C. Chalise emphasized on the core concepts of the tourism campaign for year 2011.
Dr. Chalise praised the role of the office of Lord Provost and said, “’I am extremely pleased to see that Nepalese living in Scotland are very happy. On behalf of the government of Nepal, I would like to thank you so much for your help and cooperation to the community members.’’
This type of program was never launched before in Scotland by Nepalese Embassy.
Mr. Jhabindra Aryal, Minister Counselor made a presentation on the program through power point regarding amazing tourist destinations or centers of Nepal, national heritage, flora and fauna of Nepal and cultural sites of historical importance.
Two Professors of Scotland Mr. Norman Waugh and Mr. Chris Newman shared their thrilling experiences during their visits to Nepal through various slide shows.
A very enthusiastic British audience had attended the program and different tourism publicity materials were given to the participating members.
At the end of program, Nepali cultural programs were also performed and Dr. Narayan Prasad Shrestha Coordinator and chair person of Nepalese Himalayan Association thanked all for their help and support in coordinating and making the function a success.
Mr. Bruce Anderson another coordinator and Chair of Scot- Nepalese Friendship Society also spoke at the closing program thanking all the volunteers and organizing team members.
In its efforts to extensively publicize and promote the campaign of Nepal Tourism Year 2011, the embassy of Nepal is also planning to organize the next program in Wales in late July.
