Lonely Planet has selected Nepal as one of the world’s Top 10 Destination Countries for next year in LONELY PLANET’S “BEST IN TRAVEL 2010, that published this week.

BEST IN TRAVEL 2010 is Lonely Planet’s fifth eagerly-awaited annual collection of the best places to go and the best things to do around the world for the next year ahead.
Admiring the specialty of Nepal Lonely Planet published in front, “Trekking in Nepal is one of those travel benchmarks, like seeing the Taj Mahal, or diving the Great Barrier Reef, or the first time you eat fried locusts. By the end of your trek, you may vow never to climb anything higher than the stairs around your home town, but the experience of the Himalaya will stay with you for a lifetime.
The Himalayan Times, the local newspaper quoted Adam Bennet, who is Asia-Pacific Media and communications manager of Lonely Planet “This is a collection of destinations and experiences that we rate as the stuff people really should consider for next year. Whatever your own style dictates, you should be able to find inspiration in these destinations. They’ll take you from the familiar to the far away, both geographically and culturally, and more than likely have you reaching for your travel bag.”
Lonely Planet has encouraged travelers shaping Nepal’s affirmative political changes that took place in 2008. Nepal has finally overcome it’s a decade long Maoist rebel troubles and finally after going through the peace process, rebels were invited to join the government. This Monarch country has changes its way to republic recently and this zone of peace is recovering finally.
Though small Nepal can fulfill travelers each desire—from ascending the Himalayas to watching birds and wildlife in the plains, from adventures sports to pilgrimage tour. Lonely Planet described Nepal’s multi-activity functionality, “Mountains are only half the Nepal story. The towns of Kathmandu Valley are jam-packed with pagoda-roofed temples, and the national parks of plains are teemed with exotic wildlife. On a single trip to Nepal you can climb a mountain, meditate in a monastery, ride on a bus roof, sip Chang (rice beer) with a Sherpa, get chased by rhino and have your bananas nicked by monkey—how many countries can compete with that?”
Other destinations that Lonely Planet listed in “Top 10 Countries to travel in 2010” list are El Salvador, Germany, Greece, Malaysia, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Suriname and the USA.
Lonely Planet has also listed top 10 Cities for 2010’s travel and Top 10 Regions to visit in 2010.
