Nature And Wildlife
The National Parks of Nepal's central and western Terai lowlands are among the best wildlife and nature viewing places in Asia. Experience a wonderful time navigating through sub-tropical jungles, tall elephant grass, serpentine rivers, lakes and thick forests - populated with some of the most endangered species on earth. The majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, one of the hardest animals to catch a glimpse of in the wild, rules these dense jungles stealthily stalking smaller animals like the spotted deer, wild boar, sambar and the blackbuck. Prehistoric one-horned rhinoceros, found only in this sub-continent, grazes gracefully in the wetlands along with water buffalo and gaur, largest wild cattle. Mammals like leopards, sloth bear, rhesus monkeys, hyenas, jackal, wild dogs cogitate in these parks, too.
Tour the forest and its unique sanctuary on elephant back, SUV, boat or a quite walk with an experienced local guide. Serious bird watchers will have plenty of exciting opportunities to observe some of the most exotic birds in the world. Over 800 species of birds can be found in Nepal, a tenth of the world total. Kosi Tapu Wildlife Park, in south-east Nepal, provide a unique venue for watching the Giant Hornbill, the Paradise Flycatcher, the Large Pied Kingfisher and the Racquet-tailed Drongo and other migratory waterfowl.
