This Spring season Everest has observed a huge surge in the number of climbers reaching the summit. A total of 86 mountaineers have climbed Everest, one of the highest numbers so far. And this time also there have been a few records made. The legendary Appa Sherpa broke his own previous record by ascending Everest 18th time. He successfully reached the top on May 22. Although he has repeatedly spoken of retiring from commercial climbing, this year Appa wanted to draw world’s attention to the effect of global warming on the melting of Himalayan glaciers.
