Another Netherlands-Kathmandu Flight Begins

This Wednesday at 2:30 P.M., the Boeing plane 737-800 of Arke Fly, Netherland has touched the Nepali ground at Tribhuvan International Airport carrying about 180 passengers on board. According to some intellectuals, the landing of Boeing has not only brought the crew members and 180 passengers but also the hope of making the Nepal tourism year 2011 success.

One of the official members of the Airport has claimed that from now every Monday, there will be a direct flight from Kathmandu to Europe. However, in the past, the Martin Air and Transavia Air use to take flight, and they both were from the Netherlands.

The event has been one of the historic events of the Airport. At the landing of Arke fly Boeing 737-800, the senior officials of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) were also present. Additionally, Ranjan Aryal-officiating secretary of the ministry, Ram Prasad Neupane- Acting Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and Subhas Niraula- Acting CEO of Nepal Tourism Board were also present to welcome the crew members and commuters of the plane. They said, “This will significantly help make the Nepal Tourism Year 2011 a grand success.”

    This is indeed very significant move by Nepalese government. They should take similar initiative now and then if they (the govt.) from bottom of there heart wants 2011 a big and successful tourism year for Nepal.

    Have we learned something from year 1998 where failure to provide proper infrastructure was nothing but a disaster? Many European tourist could not make it to Nepal including others around the world!
