Embassy of Nepal in London hosts Tourism boosting Program

The Embassy of Nepal, London arranged a Tourism boosting show in Wales, on 31 July 2010 with specific concentration on the crusade of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 in coordination with the Wales Nepali Community, Cardiff and Wales Gurkha Community, Cambrian.
The show was arranged at the Community center of Cardiff. The show began with the lighting of oil fed Panas lamps together by the Ambassador of Nepal to the UK, Dr Suresh C. Chalise and the Rt. Hon. Alan Michael JP MP, former first Minister of Cardiff and current member of British Parliament.  National anthems of Nepal and the UK were performed at the opening show.

Guest’s in the show were members of parliament, mayors, councilors, assembly members, professors, academics, well-wishers of Nepal, travel and tour organizers and as well as well-known members of Nepali communities based in Wales.
At the period of the show, Nepali ambassador to UK, Dr Suresh C. Chalise, emphasizing the central idea of Nepal Tourism Year 2011, explained Nepal as a safe and clean tourist location in the world and quoted that the Lonely Planet had selected Nepal as one of the 10 main tourist destinations for 2010.

Dr. Chalise, while digging into the information on the rise of tourist flow into Nepal due to enlarged tourist friendly environment also highlighted out that Nepal proposed recreational as well as adventure tourism for every age groups. He stressed for broadening of Nepal-UK relationship moreover through enlarged level of economic bonds comprising that of the tourism.
The show was the 2nd in its sequence after Scotland before this month to boost Nepalese tourism in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Jhabindra Aryal Minister Counselor of the Embassy introduced sights and sounds of Nepal through power point highlighting Nepal’s astonishing tourist destinations, national heritages, flora and fauna and cultural sites of historical significance among other things.
Mr. Alan Michael and Dianne Rees, Deputy Lord Mayor of Cardiff also talked on the show manifesting their expectations and belief that such show would not only boost tourism but also boost cultural bonds and diversify relationship among Nepalese and Wales communities.
The chairmen of the 2 Nepali communities in the Wales, Chitra B. Rai and Laxmi Tumbhahamphe, Wales Nepali Community and Wales Gurkha Community respectively, who were coordinating the show, appraised the initiatives of the Embassy for arranging the show and also explicated joy to account the possibilities to coordinate the show in Wales.
