80 climbers on the top of world

About 80 climbers reached the summit of Mount Everest from the southern side on Tuesday, thanks to the fair weather. It is recorded as the highest number of climbers to scale Mount Everest on a single day this season so far, reports say.
The president of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Ang Tshiring Sherpa, confirmed the news saying that at least 80 mountaineers scaled Mount Everest by Tuesday afternoon.
More than 100 climbers started final ascend from South Col Monday night. Bill, Doug, Nick and Willie from Jagged Globe expedition team were the first on the day to reached the top at approx 7:15 am. Not far behind were the members of the First Ascent team Jake Norton, Ed Viesturs, Peter Whittaker and Gerry Moffatt. The peak was crowded as more and more climbers from different expedition teams hurried their ways to the highest point in the world.
Ang Dorji Sherpa was also among the climbers who reached the summit. It is his 13th time.
“You know what? I’m calling from the summit of Mount Everest,” were the first words that came out of excited Summitclimb’s leader Sam Mansikka’s mouth over the phone.
Sam said, “There are some clouds on the Tibet side, the Nepal side is much clearer,” before descending to the base camp.
